Located inside the restored Historic Katy Depot in downtown Dension, Texas.

Dension is famous for numerous historical firsts in the country. These include having the first interurban railway in Texas between Denison and Sherman in 1901. Although no Golden Spike Event was celebrated in the city, the first North-South Trans-Continental rail link occurred in Denison on March 13, 1873.

Multiple collections of books and maps, everything covering railroad history in the Denison area and beyond. In 1872, the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railway established a railhead in the wilderness just south of the Red River in Texas.  For more information visit their website.

Perrin Air Force Base was active during World War II as piolot training airfield and during the Cold War as a combat crew and flying training base. Constructed in 1941 it was closed in 1971.

Located in the heart of Denison, Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site showcases the home where the 34th U.S. President Dwight David “Ike” Eisenhower was born in 1890. Antique furnishings fill the modest frame house, illustrating the working class life of the Eisenhowers.

Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge
