DINO DAYS Academy
Sherman Museum
301 South Walnut
Sherman, TX
DINO ACADEMY, the museum’s summer children’s workshop series. Museum Director Dan Steelman explained, “We are excited about using the exhibition as the focus for our summer children’s learning program. Children love dinosaurs and we aim to give them a real understanding of these creatures. Our goal is to allow Academy participants to touch and hold certain fossil castings, such as a T-Rex tooth, T-Rex brain, Velociraptor killing claw, Stegosaurus spike and fossilized dinosaur skin.” Steelman added, “We are also hoping to raise sufficient funding to add a DINO DIG so the children can experience what it is like to dig for fossils.”
