The Great Backyard Bird Count is for kids!

The Great Backyard Bird Count (or GBBC) takes place over four days in February each year.
It's very easy!
Watch and count birds in your yard, a nearby park, or maybe at your school. Report what you saw by entering your bird list online.
By doing this, we learn what kind of birds are being seen in the winter and whether there are more or fewer of them than before. Learn more about how to participate.
You'll have more fun if you learn more about birds. Try some of the games below and acitvities on this page!

Calling All Cooks

Hapkido
Hapkido is a complete martial art that is dedicated to the cultivation of mental strength and well-being. It combines kicking and punching similar to karate or taekwondo, throws found in Judo, and grappling from Ju Jitsu. Hapkido is taught by Chief Master John Murphy teaches seminars throughout the country and has taught four world champions and over a score of national champions.

Karate
ShotoKan Karate is a traditional Japanese Martial Art form that will be taught as a form of self-defense. Learn how to protect yourself, strengthen your muscles, improve your balance, circulation, flexibility and posture. Improve your self-confidence, self-discipline, self-control and relieve stress. Participants will learn blocks, punches, kicks, forms, and sparring. Debra Williamson will teach this course. She has over 25 years experience teaching Martial Arts. Ages 7 & Older.

Shutterbug Club
Film or digital? It doesn't matter. There is something for everyone! The Sherman Shutterbug Club is a club for all those interested in photography. Improve your skills, learn from others, share your ideas, concepts, and techniques. Monthly meetings will consist of critiques, hands-on workshops, and photo assignments. Urban Art

Babysitting Course
Participants will learn the necessary skills for becoming a "Safe Sitter" as they learn to become self reliant and confident while caring for young children. Topics include growth and development, safety, first aid, emergency procedures, and constructive play. There will also be a lot of hands-on practice with dolls in basic child care skills including feeding, changing, burping, holding, etc. Registration fee includes lunch, book, and American Red Cross certification.
