Dino Days
Sherman Museum

301 South Walnut
Sherman, TX

The Sherman Museum will host a special exhibition of dinosaur fossils this summer. The exhibition, entitled DINO DAYS, will run from July 5 through August 5 and is scheduled to feature fossils from famous dinosaurs, including skulls of Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex), Triceratops, Chasmosaurus, Camarasaurus, Diplodocus, Gallimimus, Mosasaur, and others. Complete skeletons of Velociraptor and Protoceratops will also be displayed.

The month-long DINO DAYS exhibition will also feature DINO ACADEMY, the museum’s summer children’s workshop series. Museum Director Dan Steelman explained, “We are excited about using the exhibition as the focus for our summer children’s learning program. Children love dinosaurs and we aim to give them a real understanding of these creatures. Our goal is to allow Academy participants to touch and hold certain fossil castings, such as a T-Rex tooth, T-Rex brain, Velociraptor killing claw, Stegosaurus spike and fossilized dinosaur skin.” Steelman added, “We are also hoping to raise sufficient funding to add a DINO DIG so the children can experience what it is like to dig for fossils.” As a follow-up to the exhibition, The Sherman Museum will create DINO TOUR, a traveling trunk exhibit of dinosaur fossils that will be made available to schools and groups.

Finley Theater

NOISES OFF! by Michael Frayn. Called one of the funniest comedies ever written, this side-splitting farce finds a small troupe of actors trying to desperately to get a play ready just hours before opening night, and things are not going well at all. Doors won't open, actors are drinking in the wings, love spats and jealousies abound, and the set rotates so audiences get to see what happens behind the scenes.

Based on book by Patricia MacLachlan
Adapted by Joseph Robnette
Presented by Theatricks
Honey McGee Playhouse
313 W Mulberry Street
Sherman, TX 75090

Set in the early 1900’s, this play brings to life the charming, heartwarming story of Kansas farmer Jacob Witting, a widower with two children, Anna and Caleb, who places an ad in the newspapers seeking a wife. He receives a letter from Sarah Wheaton of Maine who says she will visit the family for a month to see how things work out. The joys and challenges of everyday life are richly depicted in this classic.
