Texoma Home & Garden News

Texoma has it's very own Gardening Talk Show! Premiering on KJIM  1500 AM, Frances Nelson is hosting "Miss Daisy's Garden" on Saturday Mornings between 9 and 10 am.

Along with answering questions about the challenges of gardening in Texomaland, she will be interviewing experts.

For more information about gardening in the Lake Texoma area, look for the Garden column written by another local gardening favorite guru - Jessie Gunn Stephens.  Her "In Your Backyard" articles appear on Thursdays in the Herald Democrat.  Her subjects are always  timely, interesting and written with a big dose of common sense and humor.

Local garden centers are  presenting programs from now until early summer on everything from tomatoes to petunias, so watch for these events.

The casinos in Southern Oklahoma, the explosion of restaurants in the Sherman Town Center, growth in the assisted living facilities in the area and the on-going resort and tourism trade around Lake Texoma created a need for about 3,500 skilled employees in the Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
