Finally!
New Development on Lake Texoma
It took 12 years, but recently a commemorative document celebrating the transfer of 600 acres of Lake Texoma shoreline to the City of Denison,Tx was signed. The city of Denison paid $1.8 million for the acreage which includes almost nine mile of shoreline. the city will in turn sell most of the property Shueler Development who intends to invest $215 million in infrastructure including restaurants, shops and homes.
In the press release, Mayor Jared Johnson said “This is one of the most significant events in Denison’s history and it will shape our future. It has been a complicated process. It literally took an act of Congress to make this project a reality.”
Schuler Development worked with federal and state officials for more than a decade to make this project happen. The
proposed development spurred the passage of the federal Water Resources Development Act of 2007, authorizing the Army Corps of Engineers to sell land for improvement projects that provide for the conservation and development of water related resources. Before the sale could go through, the Corps of Engineers conducted a thorough environmental impact study
Schuyler Developlment will begin working with a multidisciplinary design tema which will include planners, architects, designers and coding experts to bring Preston Harbour Development to life.

LAKE TEXOMA-Officials said it's safe for boaters to enjoy Lake Texoma but they need to be extra careful.
The Army Corps of Engineers' B.J. Parkey said despite last week's rainfall, Lake Texoma is still 4.5 feet shallower than usual this time of the year. But he's hoping they'll get more inflow from rainfall in the western counties in 30 days to bring lake levels back to normal by Memorial Day weekend.
"We urge boaters to be extremely cautious while out on the lake. Obviously there's a lot of foreign obstructions
that are now visible, above lake level or they're just right below sub surface," he said.

Six Old Geezers Fishing Report
Where to start??? Thanks to all of you who fished with us. The lake temps are up to lower to mid 50's and stripers are on the feed!
We have slabbed up sandies, caught fish on soft baits on structure, deadsticked,Dave even trolled a bit "shhh" and every afternoon we chased gulls...man what fun! On some days the last 2 weeks it's been a bad day to be a shad and the gulls have made it very easy to locate the schools. These schools that we know of are anywhere from tabletop to oil well point and Highport all the way west almost to annex. Overall lack of water has seemed to keep the fish mid lake a lot this year.

The fish have staged at the mouths of the rivers and they are holding there in pretty decent schools. Finding fish isn't a problem right now but they are only feeding hard, for short periods of the day. The rest of the time, the bite is kind of light. When they do turn on, it is about as fast as you can go.

Lake Texoma Fishing Report
Jan 24, 2013
Michael Moore brought his 11 year old son Sam out to fish with me today. The fish were few and far between but we managed to boat three like this one. Sam's first Striper weighs about 14 lbs and we caught 2 more over 10 lbs but no wind and no clouds and no bird working made for tough fishing. I caught a limit of fish on Monday but no big ones so I guess it's just hit and miss but this is still the best time of year to get a big fish.
